Connected Apps

The Connected Apps page is your central hub for connecting third-party services to your organization. Here you can link your Google accounts to automatically import analytics, search data, and contacts.

Getting Started

Visit the Connected Apps page to see all available services. Each service shows:

  • Connection status - Whether it's connected or not
  • Configuration button - Change settings for connected services
  • Account information - Which Google account is linked
  • Connect/Disconnect buttons - Quick actions to manage each service

Available Integrations

We currently support three Google services, with more coming soon:

Google Analytics 4 (GA4)

Link your Google Analytics account to see how visitors use your website.

What access you're granting:

  • View your website analytics (visitors, page views, traffic sources)
  • See your Google account email address

What we do with this: We only look at your analytics data—we never change anything. Specifically:

  • Understand your visitors: See how many people visit, what pages they view, and where they come from
  • Track growth: Monitor trends to see if your website traffic is increasing
  • Identify opportunities: Find your most popular pages and traffic sources
  • Your Google Analytics settings stay exactly as you set them—we can't modify anything

How to connect:

  1. Find the Google Analytics 4 card and click "Connect"
  2. A window will show you exactly what permissions you're granting—review these carefully
  3. Click "Continue with Google"
  4. Google will ask you to sign in (if not already) and approve the connection
  5. Choose which property you want to track from the list
  6. Select the specific website (data stream) to monitor
  7. Done! You'll see "Connected" on the card

The system will automatically suggest the property that matches your website URL to make setup easier.

What you'll see once connected:

  • The name of your connected Google Analytics property
  • Which website is being tracked
  • The Google account email that's connected

Google Search Console

Link your Search Console to understand how your website appears in Google search results.

What access you're granting:

  • View your search performance data (clicks, impressions, rankings)
  • See your Google account email address

What we do with this: We only read your search data—we never make changes. Specifically:

  • See search performance: View how often your site appears in Google and how many people click through
  • Understand keywords: Learn which search terms bring people to your website
  • Track rankings: Monitor where your pages rank in search results
  • Identify opportunities: Find pages that could perform better
  • Your Search Console settings remain untouched—we have no ability to change anything

How to connect:

  1. Find the Google Search Console card and click "Connect"
  2. Review the permissions being requested in the window that appears
  3. Click "Continue with Google"
  4. Sign in to Google (if needed) and approve the connection
  5. Select which website property you want to track
  6. Done! The card will show "Connected"

The system will automatically suggest the website that matches your organization, making it quick to set up. We support both domain properties and specific URL properties.

What you'll see once connected:

  • Your website URL
  • Whether it's a domain property or URL property
  • The Google account email that's connected

Google Contacts

Link Google Contacts to sync your contact information with your organization.

What access you're granting:

  • Read and manage your Google Contacts
  • See your Google account email address

What we do with this:

  • Import contacts: Bring your Google contacts into your organization
  • Keep information current: Update contact details when they change in Google
  • Match existing contacts: Link Google contacts with people already in your system
  • Track relationships: See connections between contacts
  • We only access contacts you have permission to view

How to connect:

  1. Find the Google Contacts card and click "Connect"
  2. Review what access you're granting in the window that appears
  3. Click "Continue with Google"
  4. Sign in to Google (if needed) and approve the connection
  5. That's it! The card will show "Connected"

What you'll see once connected:

  • The Google account email that's connected

Key Features

Automatic Matching

When you connect Google Analytics or Search Console, the system tries to find the right property for you:

  • Google Analytics: Looks for properties that match your website
  • Search Console: Finds sites that match your organization's domain

How it works:

  1. First, it looks for an exact match with your website address
  2. If no exact match is found, it looks for similar domains
  3. If it can't find a match, you'll see a notice and can select manually

This saves you time by pre-selecting the correct property in most cases.

Separate Connections for Each Organization

If you manage multiple organizations, each one has its own separate connections. When you switch between organizations, you'll only see the connections for the one you're currently viewing.

Connection Status Indicators

Each service shows its current state with a colored badge:

  • Connected (Green) - Everything is working normally
  • Pending (Gray) - Connection is being set up
  • Expired (Yellow) - You need to reconnect (this happens when Google access expires)
  • Not Connected (Light Gray) - Service hasn't been connected yet

Secure Google Sign-In

All connections use Google's secure sign-in process:

  1. Click the "Connect" button
  2. Review what access you're granting
  3. A new window opens where you sign in to Google
  4. Approve the connection request
  5. The window closes and you're back to the connections page

Automatic Refresh

The page keeps itself up to date:

  • Updates immediately when you connect or disconnect a service
  • Checks for updates again after half a second
  • Refreshes automatically every 30 seconds while you're on the page

You don't need to manually refresh to see changes.

Choosing Your Analytics Property or Website

For Google Analytics and Search Console, after connecting you'll need to choose which property or website to track:

  1. A window appears showing your available options
  2. The system highlights its recommended choice (if found)
  3. Click on your preferred option to select it
  4. Click "Save"
  5. The connection is complete and the page refreshes

Managing Your Connections

Connecting a Service

  1. Find the service card (Google Analytics, Search Console, or Google Contacts)

  3. Review the permissions carefully in the window that appears—this tells you exactly what access you're giving
  4. Click "Continue with Google"
  5. Sign in to your Google account in the new window (if you're not already signed in)
  6. Approve the connection
  7. If prompted, choose which property or website to track
  8. Done! The service will show as "Connected"

Changing Settings

For Google Analytics and Search Console, you can change which property or website is being tracked:

  1. Click the gear/settings button on the service card
  2. A window appears showing all your available options
  3. Click on a different property or website
  4. Click "Save"
  5. The page updates automatically with your new selection

Disconnecting a Service

  1. Click the red X button on the service card
  2. Confirm that you want to disconnect
  3. The connection is removed immediately from your organization
  4. Your Google account access is also revoked
  5. The page updates automatically

Important: When you disconnect, all access is removed. If you want to use the service again later, you'll need to reconnect and set it up again.

Common Questions

Why isn't my property automatically selected?

If the system doesn't automatically choose your property or website:

  • Check that your organization's website address is correct in your settings
  • Make sure your Google Analytics or Search Console property matches this website
  • You can always select it manually from the list

Why does it say "Expired"?

Google connections can expire over time for security. To fix this:

  1. Click "Connect" again on the service
  2. Go through the Google sign-in process
  3. Your connection will be refreshed and working again

I don't see my changes

The page updates itself automatically, but if you don't see something:

  • Wait a few seconds—it might be updating
  • Click the refresh button at the top of the page
  • If still not showing, try refreshing your browser

Can I use different Google accounts for each service?

Yes! Each service can be connected with a different Google account. This is useful if your analytics, search console, and contacts are under different accounts.

What happens to my data if I disconnect?

When you disconnect:

  • We immediately stop accessing your Google data
  • Any data we've already collected stays in your organization
  • The connection is fully revoked in your Google account
  • You can reconnect anytime, and we'll start collecting fresh data

Privacy & Security

What You're Allowing

When you connect a service, you give specific, limited permissions:

  • Google Analytics: We can view your analytics data (visitors, page views, traffic)
  • Search Console: We can view your search performance (clicks, impressions, rankings)
  • Google Contacts: We can read and sync your contact information

What We Cannot Do

  • We never change your Google Analytics or Search Console settings
  • We don't modify your website or its configuration
  • We only access the specific Google service you connect—nothing else
  • We don't share your data with anyone outside your organization
  • We only ask for the minimum access needed to work

Read-Only Access

Google Analytics and Search Console connections are read-only:

  • ✅ We can see your data and create reports
  • ✅ We can show you insights and trends
  • ❌ We cannot change your properties, sites, or any settings
  • ❌ We cannot modify your tracking or configuration
  • ❌ We cannot delete or change any of your historical data

This means your Google accounts and data stay safe—we can only look, never touch.

Your Control

  • Disconnect anytime: Remove access instantly by clicking the disconnect button
  • See what you're granting: Every connection shows you exactly what permissions you're giving
  • Per organization: Each organization has separate connections—they never mix
  • Secure storage: All connection information is encrypted and protected
